Our Pastor
Scott & Melissa Northcutt

Pastor Scott Northcutt is the founding pastor of Wellspring Baptist Church. He and his wife, Melissa, have spent 35 years cultivating a home and family founded in grace, hospitality, and heartfelt welcome.
Deeply rooted in East County and settled in Lakeside, the Northcutts live out their love for community through warmth, laughter, and stories shared around the farm table during backyard barbecue and pool gatherings. Their door is always open—and their hearts are too.
Scott brings more than three decades of pastoral experience, having served as an Associate Pastor in a large congregation before planting Wellspring. He’s known for teaching Scripture with clarity and conviction, and leading with humility, empathy, and genuine care. Whether sharing a meal, offering counsel, or opening the Word, his heart remains steady: to help people grow in grace and walk closely with Jesus.
In addition to his pastoral role, Scott serves as an instructor at a local electrical trade school, equipping young professionals with practical skills and strong character. He also runs his own business in the community, modeling a work ethic grounded in integrity and purpose. His ministry shows up not just in the pulpit, but in the classroom, on job sites, and through everyday relationships.
Whether it's Sunday morning or an ordinary Tuesday, Scott and Melissa are present—walking with others through the hills and valleys, inspiring faith, and bringing encouragement to daily life. Their ministry is personal, relational, and built on showing up with grace and intention.
About Wellspring
A Simple Church with Deep Roots
At Wellspring, we believe church is not a performance or a program—it’s a place to belong. We gather around tables, in circles, and under trees. We pray, laugh, listen, question, and grow together. Whether you’ve walked with Jesus for decades or you’re still figuring out what you believe, you’re welcome here.
Our name, Wellspring, speaks to our deepest hope: that God’s presence flows into every part of life—quietly, naturally, and powerfully. We’re not interested in building big systems. We’re building friendships. We’re not here to impress. We’re here to be real.
We Believe
We are a Baptist church rooted in Scripture and led by grace.
We believe in:
-
A personal relationship with Jesus Christ
-
The transforming power of love
-
The beauty of shared life and mutual support
-
Living faith out loud—in kitchens, parks, and coffee shops

You're Invited
You don’t have to have it all figured out. You don’t need perfect faith. You just need to show up.
There’s room at the well—and we’d love for you to draw near.
